The objective of the workshop is to bring together industrial and scientific actors working on reliability, sustainability and long-term performance of solar photovoltaic systems (PV), concentrated solar photovoltaic systems (CPV), solar thermal systems (ST) and concentrated solar power systems (CSP). The first edition of this workshop was a real opportunity for these three communities to exchange on the common problematic of durability of solar materials and systems. A lot of scientific discussions and international projects were initiated.
The scientific program will consist of three invited talks plus nine presentations that will each address one of the three main fields: PV/CPV, ST and CSP :
- In-situ and Ex-situ Characterizations: in this topic the discussions will be focused on the current different characterization tools for diagnostic, tracking performance and failures of systems requiring an analysis of environmental constraints (meteorology, irradiation,...).
- Ageing study both accelerated indoor and outdoor exposure study and their correlation. This theme aims to identify the problems related to aspects of ageing by setting up tools for the study of ageing such as modeling, statistics, the definition of ageing, ageing mechanisms cycle,…
- Measurement of the environmental stress factor (outdoor exposition or during the lifetime of systems): in this last issue will be developed the instrument and methodology to measure the level of environmental stress factor, measurement of external and internal stress level, Analysis and feedback, diagnostic post ageing aspects,...
Major research projects could be implemented at this event through the DURASOL platform.

Deadline for abstract submission : March 10th, 2017
Your abstract should be edited along the abstract template RS2 and deposit on the submit page (create an account before) or send to email@example.com. Deadline of submission : Friday, March 10th, 2017. Notice of acceptance : Friday, March 17th, 2017.
The scientific program will consist of three invited talks (30 mn for the presentation + 15 mn for the discussions) plus nine presentations (15 mn for the presentation + 5 mn for the discussions) that will each address one of the three main fields: PV/CPV, ST and CSP.
Abstracts for the conference will be selected by the Scientific Committee : Damien BARAKEL, Olivier PALAIS (IM2NP), Eric GERRITSEN, Olivier RACCURT (CEA-INES), Jean-Luc GARDETTE (ICCF) and Daniel NELIAS (LAMCOS)
ANR - the French National Research Agency - supports the workshop, through the ANR Equipex project DURASOL. The workshop is therefore also intended to help implement major research projects through the DURASOL platform.

"Durability of solar reflectors".
Aránzazu Fernández García was born in Madrid in 1977. She received the BS/MEng in Industrial Engineering in 2004 (University of Malaga, Spain), the MS degree in Solar Energy in 2007 (University of Almería, Spain) and the PhD degree in Environmental Engineering in 2013 (University of Almería, Spain). She has developed her research activity in CIEMAT-PSA since 2002. She is author of 2 books and 4 book chapters. She is co-author of 24 publications in international journals (16 of them in indexed ones), 45 contributions to different International Conferences and Symposiums and more than 150 technical reports. She has attended to 15 international Conferences. She has supervised 10 undergraduate students, 5 master students, and 3 pre-doctoral students, and currently she is directing 1 PhD student and co-directing 2 PhD students. She has been involved in 14 EU and 3 Spanish founded I+D grants and has been scientific responsible of 24 cooperation agreements with private companies. Currently, she is the Site Manager of the laboratories for optical characterization and durability testing of solar reflectors at the PSA (OPAC). Her research activities are mainly focused on optical measurement and durability testing of solar reflectors (both in outdoor conditions and accelerated aging) and optimization of the cleaning methods for Concentrating Solar Power plants. She has collaborated with a large number of international institutions of relevance in the fields of concentrated solar energy, mainly DLR, NREL, CEA, ENEA, Fraunhofer Institute, CENER, Cranfield University, Tekniker, Tecnalia and CNRS.

"Light-Induced Degradation and Regeneration of Crystalline Silicon Solar Cells: Small Defects with Important Industrial Consequences"
Author biography :
Sébastien Dubois studied materials science at the National Institute for Applied Sciences (INSA) in Lyon, and graduated with an engineering degree in 2004. In 2007 he received his Ph.D. in physics from Marseille University. After joining CEA-INES in 2007 he conducted and supervised researches in the field of defects in crystalline silicon solar cells. He is currently responsible for the homojunction silicon solar cells laboratory.
